Chelsea have landed themselves an absolute deal, so much so that it’s almost laughable.
Kai Havertz is on the brink of joining Arsenal for a reported fee of £65m!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those Chelsea fans who have spent months hating on or not liking Kai Havertz. I appreciate the good he can do, his quality on his day, and what he is good at. I also appreciate the important contributions he has made to our club, most notably the Champions League winning goal.
However, to get £65m for a player who has been inconsistent at best over the three years that he has been at this club, a player who doesn’t really suit this league, is close to a laughably good deal for Chelsea.
On his day he can be good, but his day did not come anywhere near enough, and he ended up being a player who was just too weak on the ball, missed too many chances, did not bring enough, and was very frustrating to watch most of the time. I think many Chelsea fans would also say the same thing.
I’ve been saying this for a long time about Havertz, as well as being able to appreciate the good things, so know that this is not a bitter rant about him joining a rival. I honestly don’t care where he goes, if any club wants to drop £65m on Havertz this summer then I’ve always said we should snap their hands off and shake on it!
Thank you for the good things you did Havertz, and for the memories and contributions. But for me to be anything but very happy that he is now leaving for £65m, would be a clear lie!
What’s laughable is you don’t see the reality Damm no one performed for you last year..you spent a fortune and apart from a few draws would prob have got relagated..I imagine that a few players didn’t know what was going on and even if they would play..you went from a… Read more »
