Chelsea are among several Premier League sides sending scouts to watch Athletic Bilbao starlet Gorka Guruzeta in action against Manchester United U23s on Wednesday, according to The Sun.
The Sun report that Guruzeta’s contact with Athletic is due to expire at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, which appears to have alerted several of the Premier League’s biggest names.

It is mentioned in the report that Chelsea will face competition from Tottenham and Arsenal in the race to secure Guruzeta’s services. You’d like to think that we have the appeal and financial resources to brush aside the both of them.
Who is Guruzeta?
Guruzeta is yet to make his senior debut for Athletic, despite now being 21-years-old. He has spent his career so far playing for the B team, who he will be representing vs Man United on Wednesday.
Knowing the club’s recent strategy in the transfer market, Guruzeta probably would never make an appearance for the senior side if he joined. Rather he would be shipped out on loan, developed and sold for a healthy profit.
