Chelsea are reportedly in ‘advanced talks’ to sign OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
Seri has been a player mentioned on the media’s mock-ups of Chelsea’s summer transfer wish-list for several months now. There didn’t appear to have been anything more concrete than initial interest from the Blues. Until now…
It has been claimed that Seri is now in advanced talks to become a Chelsea player. All that remains is the two clubs finding an agreement over the terms of the transfer.

Ordinarily, fee agreement would be the most complicated part of the deal. However, Seri has a release clause in his contract which expires on July 15th. According to the Mirror, it stands somewhere in the region of £35M.
That seems a fair price to pay to secure the services of a player who would be an upgrade on the options we currently have at our disposal in the middle of the park. Let’s cut our losses on Danny Drinkwater and get Seri through the door.
