Further details on Chelsea’s pursuit of AS Roma centre-forward Edin Dzeko have been revealed by Matt Law for the Telegraph.
As the Telegraph report, Chelsea are closing in on a deal for AS Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, who would be able to provide Marcos Alonso with genuine competition at left-wing-back.
Palmieri, however, is not the only player Chelsea are looking to poach from AS Roma, as we have reported previously.
Former Manchester City title-winner Dzeko is also a target for the Premier League champions, and the Telegraph have provided us with some much craved information on the situation.
Matt Law claims that Dzeko is being targeted to ease the goal-scoring burden currently being carried by the shoulders of Alvaro Morata. It is reported that the Blues enquired as to the availability of Dzeko and plan to hold more talks with AS Roma next week.

This is exciting news. Dzeko may well be the man to get our attack firing again…
Can Chelsea relive and redeem her image for once, as a serious English Club by signing prolific striker, winger, left back and a box-to-box midfielder?
He is a strong and intelligent striker. Chelsea should be fast about the deal.
