London Evening Standard reporter Simon Johnson has provided an update on Chelsea’s transfer activity as we approach the January transfer window.
Leon Bailey

According to the London Evening Standard, it is extremely unlikely that Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey will be making the move to Stamford Bridge anytime soon.
The explosive wide-man has developed into a far more accomplished player during his time in the Bundesliga and thus his current employers are extremely keen to keep hold of him.
This is one to keep an eye on for the future as Bailey continues to evolve into the player that he appears destined to become.
Thomas Lemar and Ross Barkley

The London Evening Standard report that Chelsea are interested in signing AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar and Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
The former has proven his credentials both domestically and in Europe over the past 18 months or so, and it appears to have landed him on the transfer radar of the Premier League champions.
As the London Evening Standard note, the Blues’ move to sign Barkley fell through at the tail end of the summer transfer window, so it seems logical that they will try once again to secure his services.
