Chelsea not deterred by €80M rejection, Blues set to lodge one final bid for top target

Chelsea are set to launch one final bid for Alex Sandro, according to Telegraph. The Blues are keen on signing the Brazilian defender this transfer window, despite having several bids rejected earlier in the summer, as per the report.

Antonio Conte is likely keen to sign a left wing-back this summer to provide competition for Marcos Alonso. As well as Sandro, the Premier League champions were also linked with Ryan Bertrand by The Sun.

The Brazilian left-back, however, is Chelsea’s number one priority, according to the Telegraph. Calciomercato report that Chelsea tabled a €80M bid for Sandro, but it was rejected by Juventus.

Speaking to Sky Italia (via Sky Sports) last week, Juventus CEO Guiseppe Marotta said:

“Alex Sandro said he wants to stay at Juventus and this is a real big deal. So we automatically rejected the sender’s [Chelsea’s] request.”

Despite Juventus coming out saying that they will not be selling Sandro, and also revealing that the player did not want to move, the Telegraph believe that Chelsea have not given up hope of securing his services before the end of the window.
