Chelsea are reportedly prepared to launch a big-money bid for Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa.
Chiesa is one of the most coveted talents in Italian football. Though just 20-years-old, he’s already established himself as a regular for both Fiorentina and the Italian national team.
Chelsea have now been linked with a move for him, with Calciomercato‘s report noting that Juventus already offered €60M for Chiesa back in the summer. Their monumental offer was turned down.
Chelsea will have to better that bid to have any hope of landing Chiesa, but if he is able to replicate Marcos Alonso’s success of adapting to life as a Blue after departing Fiorentina, it’d be money well spent.
Maurizio Sarri will be well accustomed to what Chiesa’s capable of, having faced him during his time as Napoli manager. His recruitment thus far has been spot on, so if he green-lights a move for Chiesa, we ought to stump up the cash.
