Chelsea can sign Juventus goal-machine for £49M – but there’s a catch

Juventus are reportedly open to the idea of selling us Gonzalo Higuain, but we’ll have to raise some cash in order to make the move possible.

Chelsea could really do with recruiting a new striker between now and the end of the transfer window. We struggle to believe that Maurizio Sarri is content with what he’s got.

Though we have over £100M worth of talent upfront in the shape of Alvaro Morata, Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud, none of them have proven themselves able to hit 20-goals in a Premier League season.

Batshuayi hasn’t been given a fair short, in fairness. Out of the three of them, he’s most deserving of a chance to show what he can do, but he may soon have even more competition in attack.

According to the Daily Mail, Juventus are prepared to allow Higuain to join Chelsea if their £49M valuation is met. However, Chelsea will have to sell Morata in order to fund the move.

Morata’s rough around the edges, but selling him and signing Higuain would be a somewhat short-sighted move. What do you think, Blues?
