Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in signing a Barcelona player in the January transfer window, and Lionel Messi is concerned.
Chelsea recruited six first-team players in the summer, but they were primarily plugging the holes left by departures. Don Balon’s report claims that Conte has asked Roman Abramovich to sign Barcelona midfielder-cum-wing-back Sergi Roberto in January. It is believed that Conte sees him as the ideal long-term successor for La Masia product Cesc Fabregas, and his signing would represent excellent value money at ‘just’ €40M (£35.2M).
