Spanish radio station links Real Madrid with audacious January swoop on Chelsea

Reliable Spanish radio station Cadena Ser are running an exclusive which claims that Real Madrid will try their luck for Eden Hazard when January comes around.

They’d be wasting their time.

It’s no secret that Hazard has Madrid on his mind. He’s confirmed it publicly. On Monday, he was quoted by ESPN saying:

“Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don’t want to lie, it is my dream since I was a kid.”

In wake of these comments, you could be forgiven for fearing the worst with Candena Ser claiming that Los Blancos are preparing a move to sign Hazard in January.

Given Hazard’s precarious contract situation and open willingness to join Real Madrid, Florentino Perez is right to be encouraged. He hasn’t got a hope in hell of signing him in January, though.

Hazard has been the star performer in a Chelsea side which has been reinvigorated by the ingenuitive mind of Maurizio Sarri. We’re right in the title race, and selling him would derail that.

The 27-year-old may well depart Chelsea sooner rather than later, with the Santiago Bernbaeu looking like his most likely destination. But, the chances of it happening in January, in our opinion, are slim.
