We have some bad, but hilarious news.
According to Sky Sports, Ross Barkley was undergoing his medical with Chelsea after the Blues agreed a £30M fee with Everton. However, mid-way through, he had second thoughts, and walked out. The deal is off.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law has confirmed the story, but there’s a twist. He claims that Barkley hasn’t fully rejected Chelsea, and there is a hope that he will be able to find an agreement to sign with them in January.
In all my years as a Chelsea fan, this is one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen, and it’s typical of the shambolic nature of the club at the moment.
Something tells me there’s more to this story than is being reported, but you imagine that it will all be revealed in the coming days. We will have to wait and see, but for now, this one is OFF.
