Michy Batshuayi sent a message to both of his current club employers with a brace for Belgium against Scotland on Friday night.
Batshuayi left Chelsea on loan in hope of securing first-team football at Valencia. He left Maurizio Sarri with just Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud to choose from. Not the striking options you would expect to see in a team that should be challenging for the Premier League title.
Unfortunately for Batshuayi, he hasn’t yet been able to force himself into Valencia’s starting lineup. He’s become far too accustomed to life among the substitutes in recent seasons.
Batshuayi is not allowing himself to become disheartened, however. Instead, he appears determined to show both Chelsea and Valencia what they’re missing out on.
Batshuayi’s first-goal was a cool left-footed finish inside the penalty area. Thierry Henry-esque, one could say. His assistant manager must be having some kind of influence on him during training.

His second was one to favour. Batshuayi raced through on goal before firing low and hard into the bottom corner from outside the penalty area. As emphatic as it gets.

Chelsea may fast be discovering that they made a mistake allowing arguably their best striker to leave the club in the summer.
