Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has emerged as a shock contender to take the Chelsea helm next season, The Daily Mail reports.
The Serbian has led the Championship side to possible promotion contenders after our neighbours’ impressive season.
Just before Roman Abramovich owned Chelsea, Jokanovic played for the Blues but made little impact as a player. However, it appears the 49-year-old has made an impression on the Russian billionaire.
Despite these reports from the Daily Mail, the tabloid newspaper reiterates that former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is still the favourite to become Antonio Conte’s successor.
It’s understandable that Jokanovic isn’t higher up our managerial shortlist due to never coaching in the Premier League before. However, the former-Chelsea player guided Watford to the English top-flight in April 2015 but left the club before the start of the new season.
Whilst it’s becoming increasingly unlikely Conte will stay here next season, the club are laying out several options to take charge of the team in the summer.
Antonio content is good if the Chelsea government will let him buy his own player those that are willing to do the work for him.
