N’Golo Kante has been discussing his new advanced role in Maurizio Sarri’s new-look Chelsea side.
Kante scooped the PFA, FWA and PL player of the year awards following his debut campaign as a Chelsea player. Things were not as straightforward for us last time around, but Kante’s quality still shone though. The Frenchman picked up the Chelsea player of the year accolade.
After two successful seasons as a Chelsea player, you’d think Sarri would be mad to come in and upset the equilibrium. He’s not hesitated in doing so, though. He has handed Kante a completely new role, and if his performance against Huddersfield is anything to go by, it could prove to be a masterstroke.
Following the game, Kante himself has been discussing how he is adapting to his new advanced role in the Chelsea midfield. He seems optimistic about it, as he should be after getting on the scoresheet on the opening day of the season. He’s quoted by Squawka saying:
“It’s a new manager and a new system. I played a little bit further forward. I need to adapt to this role but I will give my best in this position for the team and I hope we can keep doing good things in the future.”
“I try to find the striker, to be more offensive and cause problems for the opponent and I think it went well.”
What do you think of Kante’s new role, Blues? Is it a good move from Sarri, or is he better playing deep? Let us know what you think in the comments.
My opinion, I think Ngolo Cante should play as defense midfielder, he is strong he play at the back of Joghino and Matteo Kovacic. And for that He will help to reduce the current weakness of the backs
I want to see a Yaya Toure box-to-box type from Kante
He is better playing deep.
