Alvaro Morata is on a collision course with the Chelsea fans if he continues to say things like this to the media.
The Spaniard enjoyed an electric start to life in blue, but his form fast tailed off before a back injury derailed his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
Perhaps the worst performance of Morata’s time at Chelsea so far was against Arsenal at the Emirates in the Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg. The 25-year-old missed multiple clear-cut opportunities to find the back of the net – and his side suffered the consequences for his wayward finishing.
It’s safe to say that Morata is not in the good books of the Chelsea faithful anyway – and things may be about to get a whole lot worse.
During an interview with Spanish TV programme Espacio Reservado, Morata admitted that should former employers Real Madrid come knocking once more, it would be difficult to turn them down:
“Look, I have to respect Chelsea who made a massive effort to sign me and I am very happy here. But Real Madrid are Real Madrid always.”
That’s not exactly what you want to hear from a player who you paid a club-record fee to sign in the summer…
