Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko have answered Antonio Conte’s prayers by appearing for Chelsea in a behind doors friendly against Queens Park Rangers, according to Sky Sports.
Hazard broke his ankle while on international duty with Belgium back in June, whereas Bakayoko arrived at Stamford Bridge from AS Monaco already carrying a pre-existing knee injury.
It has been unclear when both players were set to return to the first-team setup, but this latest news suggests that Bakayoko’s Premier League debut is just around the corner.
Sky Sports report that both players played during a friendly match against QPR, where the Blues ran out 8-0 winners against the Championship outfit.
However, Sky Sports do note that both players are unlikely to be involved in Chelsea’s clash with Tottenham at Wembley at the weekend.
It’s probably for the best that we don’t rush them back – their returns appear to now be on the horizon.
