Antonio Conte Diego Costa
Antonio Conte and Diego Costa falling out led to the striker exiting Stamford Bridge.

Diego Costa has revealed that he does not hold a grudge against Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, as the Spaniard closes in on his return to Atletico Madrid.

Sky Sports quote Costa, who reveals that there is no animosity, despite plenty of claims to the contrary:

“There’s nothing of the sort there, I’m not upset with anybody, I have no bitterness towards anyone. Everything is cool.”

Costa was then asked if he had a parting message to the Chelsea fans, who have stuck by him through thick and thin. His reply is a real tear jerker, as Sky Sports report:

“Everybody knows how much I love the fans.”

As Sky Sports report, Conte decided that he did not want Costa as part of his squad. The player then refused to return to training, despite being included in our Premier League squad.

Despite all of the aforementioned drama, he insists that there is no bitterness, which is great to see. Costa’s love for the Chelsea fans is also reciprocated, we have adored him since the moment he arrived on these shores.

Good luck in the future, Diego, you will be missed.
