Manchester United Jose Mourinho has claimed that Chelsea did not deserve to win the FA Cup final on Saturday evening.

Here we go again. Mourinho struggling to show an ounce of grace in defeat.

United were not at the races in the first-half and failed to have a single shot on target during the full 45 minutes. Though they came out for the second-half a different beast, you cannot expect to perform that poorly for half of a cup final and expect to be victorious.

Despite that, Mourinho is adamant that United were the better side. The Portuguese, who is renown for his negative and defensive tactics, bemoaned the fact that Chelsea set-up to contain. He’s quoted by the BBC saying:

“I congratulate them but I don’t think they deserved to win. I congratulated them. I am Manchester United manager and I have to be respectful, not just because they are my previous club but because they are the opponents today and I think we deserved to win. I think we were the best team, but that is football.”

“I am quite curious to know what you say or what people write because if my team plays like Chelsea did, I can imagine what people would say. I am quite curious”

We wonder if Mourinho is even aware of his own hypocrisy at this point. He has won countless games in the past setting up in this manner and claimed the credit for the victories as his own.

Chelsea scored, Man United didn’t. Chelsea won the game, Man United didn’t. Chelsea won the FA Cup, Man United finish the season trophyless. Those are the facts, Jose.

It’s a fact Chelsea could and should have had 2 more penalties, against Matic and Young. And if United don’t score, they can’t win.
