Former Chelsea Left-Back Graeme Le Saux insists manager Antonio Conte can make Tiemoue Bakayoko a better player than Nemanja Matic, Daily Star reports.
Bakayoko put in a great performance against Matic’s Manchester United team in the 1-0 win on Sunday.
Despite having chances to score, the midfielder put in a stellar display after his poor match against Roma last Tuesday.
When speaking about the Frenchman, Le Saux believes Bakayoko already has better qualities than the former-Chelsea midfielder.
Le Saux is quoted by the Daily Star saying:
“Bakayoko is definitely more versatile [than Matic], he can play further forward and if he can add more goals to his game then he’ll be hugely valuable.
Bakayoko is currently on international duty as we hope to see him continue his form in our next game against West Brom.
How can Conte get the best out of Bakayoko?
It’s hard to disagree with Le Saux on this one. The 23-year-old has shown glimpses of what he can do since joining Chelsea.
Conte will of course play a role in Bakayoko’s progression but the influence of N’Golo Kante certainly helped the player against United.
If Bakayoko can become a goal-scoring midfielder that would be great along with the work ethic and defensive duties he’s shown.
