In almost a carbon copy of the performance against Manchester City a fortnight ago, Chelsea once again succumbed to defeat. Not by a team that had the Premier League title in their sights, but by Crystal Palace. A team that went into Saturday’s game at the bottom of the table with no points.

I can go on about which players were awful and why Antonio Conte got his team selection wrong. However, after having a day to reflect on the embarrassing loss yesterday, I wanted to pull out the only spark in what was a dim afternoon for the Blues at Selhurst Park.

When Charly Musonda came onto the pitch I was relieved. Not in the sense of us still being 2-1 down but the fact the youngster was still trusted by his manager.

Possibly the only reason Musonda recieved game time was because of the stressful week he had gone though after his Instagram rant.

Musonda did give us something different and you could see he was trying. The 20-year-old even had a chance after hitting a sweet volley from a Cesc Fabregas pass just over the bar.

Only time will tell as to whether Musonda is 100% in the Italian’s plans for the remainder of the season. A loan in January may still be on the cards. However, for the time being the winger has got himself back on his feet. It looks as if Musonda has taken his manager’s focus and work hard talk very seriously.
