Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw to Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

It was a rather flat encounter in SW6 between the two previous winners of the Premier League. Leicester City came to play, and did, setting a new Premier League record for the number of shots taken by an away side in the first-half of the game.

Chelsea had the look of the team that were resigned to the loss of their Premier League crown. Antonio Conte appears to have thrown in the towel. He removed Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard on the hour mark with his side chasing a goal – go figure.

In the first-half of the contest Gary Cahill was forced to leave the field after appearing to pull his hamstring. Let’s hope that the injury is nothing too serious as the games are coming thick and fast.

The most notable incident of the entire game was the dismissal of Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell. Chilwell was already on a yellow card when he went flying into the leg of Victor Moses. It was a shocking challenge and he was fortunate not to be shown a straight red.

The game cantered towards it’s climax and it finished goalless. Conte needs to find some way to motivate his team or this season will continue to fizzle out. Perhaps he ought to make use of the transfer market to halt Chelsea’s free-fall.

Here’s our player ratings…

Courtois 8, Azpilicueta 6, Cahill 3, Rudiger 2, Moses 5, Fabregas 6, Kante 7, Bakayoko 3, Alonso 4, Hazard 2, Morata 3. (Subs: Christensen 7, Willian 6, Pedro 4)

Chelsea MUST buy a dependable young striker like Icardi and replace bakayoko with barkley once he is available for selection. Morata is good with his head but absolutely bullsh*t with his feet. Bakayoko isn’t even good. Don’t understand why chelsea bought the both of them in the first place.
