Chelsea’s interest in Juventus left-back Alex Sandro appears to be intensifying, despite there still being a long way to go until the January transfer window opens.
On Thursday, the Daily Mail reported that the Premier League champions would try again for the Brazilian in January having missed out on him in the summer. It was claimed that the Blues’ pursuit of Sandro is thought to be a way of appeasing Antonio Conte, who is thought to be a huge admirer of the 26-year-old.
Now Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have jumped on the bandwagon. They report that Chelsea are prepared to part with a fee in the region of £70M in order to secure Sandro’s services. That is an astronomical offer for a full-back, but only time will tell if it’s enough to convince Juventus to part with one of their prize possessions.
For the time being, Marcos Alonso is a more than adequate option at left-wing-back. But if we are able to acquire Sandro, it could help elevate Conte’s side to a whole new level.
