Chelsea have agreed a fee with AS Roma to sign centre-back Antonio Rudiger, according to Sky Sports.

With both Nathan Ake and John Terry already leaving to join AFC Bournemouth and Aston Villa respectively, Antonio Conte was in dire need of defensive reinforcements – it looks as though he has had his wish granted.

As per Sky Sports, Rudiger will undergo a medical in Los Angeles this week ahead of a £34M move to Stamford Bridge. He will presumably join up with the Chelsea squad for their pre-season tour.

Sky Sports note that the Premier League champions still need to discuss personal terms with the Germany international before the deal is signed and sealed, but it looks as though he will be a Chelsea player come the 2017/18 curtain raiser against Burnley.

Rudiger appears to have fully recovered from the anterior cruciate ligament rupture that he sustained just over a year ago, and has shown great promise during his time in Rome. There is plenty to be optimistic about ahead of his move to SW6.

When are we going to actually have an announcement of these signings. All we get here is fee agreed this minute and next minute we start seeing twists. What happened to Bakayoko who is supposed to have passed his medicals with Chelsea fc. We need facts not fictions please.

We are expecting him to the bridge, Chelsea need goal machine as a perfect replacement of out of favor Diego Costa who is likely reuniting with his former club.
