Antonio Conte appears to have cooled his interest in Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater after the Premier League champions failed to make a second bid for the England midfielder, reports The Telegraph.
As per The Telegraph, the London club failed with an initial £15 million bid for the central midfielder and are yet to make a second offer. The same paper report that Leicester do not want to sell one of their star players and consider the central midfielder to be worth much more than Chelsea are currently offering.
However, Antonio Conte is looking at a number of midfield options, with Barcelona’s Sergio Roberto high on the Chelsea manager’s list, and will not be held to ransom, according to The Telegraph.
With Lewis Baker heading to Middlesbrough on a season-long loan, as the Telegraph report, Conte is in desperate need for another midfielder and it’s believed he will look to step up his pursuit of a top quality central midfielder with three weeks of the transfer window remaining.
