Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma is on his way out of Stamford Bridge, according to L’Equipe.
Zouma broke into the Chelsea starting side while Jose Mourinho was at the helm in SW6, and stayed there while Guus Hiddink held the reigns. However, after he suffered a serious knee injury early in 2016, his run in the side came to an end.
Fit again and ready to go, the Frenchman needs to be playing regular first-team football in order to continue his development, and if L’Equipe are to be believed, he may well be about to get the opportunity to do so.
As per L’Equipe, Zouma is set to join Chelsea’s Premier League counterparts Stoke City on a season-long loan. The French outlet believe that he will extend his contract with the Blues until 2021 before spending the 2017/18 campaign at the bet365 arena.
This could be the perfect platform for Zouma to showcase his immense defensive ability.
