Chelsea have made a £54M bid for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, report Transfermarketweb.
As per the Daily Star, Antonio Conte is keen to further strengthen his squad between now and the end of the summer transfer window. The tabloid note that Chelsea have already spent £130M this summer, but that figure can be expected to rise considerably.
The Daily Star believe that Sandro is on Conte’s transfer wish-list, but his former employers, Juventus, are demanding £70M in exchange for the Brazilian.
Chelsea appear to value Sandro at considerably less than the aforementioned price-tag, as Transfermarketweb believe they have made a bid in the region of £54M, a bid that they claim was swiftly turned down.
Transfermarketweb note that Sandro’s deal with the Serie A champions runs until 2020, and it is likely that he will remain in Turin next season.
Conte may well have to look elsewhere in his search for defensive reinforcements, and time is running out.
