Chelsea have lodged an official bid to sign Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva, report Football Italia.

Conte worked with Candreva during his time with the Italian national team, and so would presumably know him well. Now holding the hot-seat at Stamford Bridge, it looks as though Conte is keen to reunite with the Inter star this summer.

Football Italia report that Chelsea have made a bid in the region of £16M for Candreva. There is no mention in the article whether this is likely to be enough to convince Inter to part with him.

Candreva is a winger by trade, but has also featured at wing-back for his country. Victor Moses is the only natural option at right-wing-back in Conte’s ranks, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he looked to draft in Candreva to fill that void.

However, club policy is to only offer a one-year contract to players over 30-years-old, so it seems unlikely we would spend a considerable sum on a player who we could lose 12 months later on a free transfer.

  1. Compliment to chelseafc for strengthening the club through transfers and we hope to see more signing so as to compete with the likes of Arsenal, man city and Man U. Looking at the money spent both Manchester clubs alone u will agree with me that 2017/2018 season will be so competitive even Arsenal making wave in the transfer, Chelsea club need to strengthen theirs too by bringing players like Sandro, sargi Roberto and llorente and djik cos looking at the competition we have EPL,champions league carling cup and FA u will understand that the club with good bench can make it.i therefore solicit that the board should look and identify areas where we need to strengthen and act accordingly for we are champions,Real Madrid has that history of wining back to back why,cos of the quality players they have and good bench. Thanks
