Chelsea appear to be feeling ambitious in wake of winning the Premier League title, and why not?
The Metro translate Sky Italia‘s report, which claims that the Blues have made contact with Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich over the possibility of signing centre-back Jerome Boateng this summer.
Boateng has firmly established himself as one of the best defenders in the world in recent years, and his good performances at the Allianz Arena appear to have captured the imagination of Antonio Conte, who as per Sky Italia, is keen to add him to his back-line.
The Metro believe that Boateng is not the only name on Conte’s transfer wish-list, as Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci and Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly are all also said to be options for the Italian.
There does not appear to be any dire need of defensive reinforcements in our squad, but if we have learnt one thing in the past 12 months, it’s to trust Conte’s judgement.
