Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic looks set to return from his loan at Spartak Moscow this summer, with the Russian side reportedly opting against securing his services on a permanent basis.
Pasalic joined Chelsea for peanuts back in 2013. Having had mixed success during loan spells at Elche, AS Monaco and AC Milan, he embarked on his next adventure by joining Spartak on for the 2017/18 campaign.
The Croatian signed a new four-and-a-half year contract with Chelsea prior to being shipped out on loan. Though, this is likely due to our reluctance to see him leave for free, rather than a grand show of faith in the youngster.
Having scored four goals in the Russian Premier League this term, Sport Mail report that Pasalic will return to Chelsea after Spartak opted against using their option to sign him permanently.
It remains to be seen whether another loan beckons for the 22-year-old, or even a permanent departure.
