Chelsea face stern competition in the race to sign AS Roma youngster Lorenzo Pellegrini, report The Sun.
Who on Earth is Lorenzo Pellegrini?
Pellegrini was produced by AS Roma’s academy. The same academy that has produced the likes of Francesco Totti in the past, but put pen-to-paper with their Serie A counterparts Sassuolo in the summer of 2015.
Pellegrini made 46 appearances in Italy’s top tier during his time with Sassuolo. His good performances did not appear to have gone unnoticed back at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma sprung into action and re-signed Pellegrini for £9M this past summer. His stock has continued to rise during his time back in Italy, and it now looks as though he has landed on the transfer radar of three Premier League clubs.
Plenty of competition
Chelsea are by no means alone in the race to sign Pellegrini. As per The Sun, both Manchester City and Manchester United are keen to add him to their ranks.

If Antonio Conte’s interest in signing him is genuine, he ought to act fast, or face missing out on another transfer target.
