Chelsea have been given a free-run at Valencia right-back Joao Cancelo, report the Express.

As per the Express, the Blues are interested in signing the Portugal U21 international this summer. The tabloid believe that Antonio Conte has identified Cancelo as a player who could provide competition for Victor Moses, who at the time of writing is Chelsea’s only natural option at right-wing back.

Chelsea have been offered major encouragement in their reported pursuit of the 23-year-old, too. According to the Express, Premier League counterparts Tottenham have withdrawn from the race to sign him.

The Express believe that Spurs owner Daniel Levy is unwilling to meet Valencia’s £25M asking price, leaving Chelsea alone in the race to secure his signature.

It is mentioned in the report that Chelsea have been extensively scouting Cancelo for some time, and reports suggest that we are on the verge of completing a deal to take him to Stamford Bridge.

If Levy cannot sign Cancelo at the asking price he is not going to buy any player this summer. Get your act together Levy.
