Chelsea took the lead over Southampton at Stamford Bridge through a masterful Marcos Alonso free-kick.
We all know what the Spaniard can do from set-pieces, he showcased his free-kick taking ability at Wembley against Tottenham early in the campaign, and has done so once again today.
As the seconds ticked down towards the half-time break, Alonso fired home a free-kick into the bottom corner of Fraser Forster’s net from 35-yards out. It was a beauty from Alonso, and Chelsea have a deserved lead.
