Edin Dzeko is just a matter of hours away from becoming a Chelsea player, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
Dzeko-Chelsea: should be a matter of hours.
Roma considering if to wait first for Sampdoria-Roma game tomorrow— Tancredi Palmeri (@tancredipalmeri) January 23, 2018
Dzeko won two Premier League titles during his time in England with Manchester City. He was never able to fully nail down a starting spot in City’s side, with Sergio Aguero being top dog at the Etihad, but his minutes per goal record in England’s top tier was commendable.
The Bosnian had the best-scoring season of his career last time around, finding the back of the net on 39 occasions. It appears as though his prolific form captured the imagination of Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
Dzeko’s move to Chelsea appears to be very much on, with Tancredi Palmeri claiming that it could be signed and sealed as soon as today. There is no mention of how much Chelsea will part with to sign him from AS Roma, but on the surface of it it looks as though it may well be a shrewd acquisition.
