Chelsea fans have completely ran out of patience with head coach Antonio Conte following his team selection in the damaging 1-1 draw with Huddersfield on Wednesday.
The Blues hopes of finishing in the top four now rests on Liverpool losing to Brighton at Anfield as well as Chelsea beating Newcastle away at the Sports Direct Arena on Saturday.
Whilst the majority of players who started on the night were below average, Conte picked a highly-controversial starting XI resting several key players.
Key players Eden Hazard and Oliver Giroud came off from the bench whilst Thibaut Courtois didn’t feature in the squad. Off the back of impressive individual displays against Liverpool on Sunday, many were surprised at Tiemoue Bakayoko and Victor Moses’ exclusion from the Italian’s line-up.
These are just some of the thoughts of Twitter users following Conte’s drastic squad decision:
Chelsea 2-3 Burnley
Chelsea 0-0 Leicester
Chelsea 0-3 Bournemouth
Chelsea 1-1 West Ham
Chelsea 1-1 Huddersfield
Watford 4-1 Chelsea
West Ham 1-0 Chelsea
Palace 2-1 Chelsea
Everton 0-0 ChelseaNot good enough, cya Conte 👋🏻💤

Well played Huddersfield, great club, great fans.
But Conte should apologise to all Chelsea fans for that inexplicably inept team selection.

Buzzing for our players to be good and fresh for the Newcastle game. Conte is a disgrace.

Willian and Pedro were both shocking – and Morata I’d happily never see start for Chelsea again. Giroud, Cahill, Moses, Bakayoko all great against Liverpool. What on Earth went through Conte’s head? Unbelievable. Any notion of him staying is gone, surely.

Whether you’re a Conte fanboy or not, if you actually want him to be our manager next season then you don’t want this club to succeed. Simple.
