Michy Batshuayi has discovered that he is Chelsea’s top-goalscorer for our 2017/18 FA Cup campaign… through Twitter.
Batshuayi spent the first-half of the season with the Blues, before joining Borussia Dortmund on loan as part of the transfer merry-go-round which saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang move to Arsenal and Olivier Giroud become a Chelsea player.
Prior to joining Dortmund, Batshuayi scored ten goals in all competitions for Chelsea. Three of those came in three FA Cup appearances.
The 24-year-old found the back of the net against Norwich City in the third-round replay, before bagging a brace in the fourth round. Little did he know, these three goals saw him finish the season as our top-goalscorer in a triumphant FA Cup campaign.
The news was broken to Michy on Twitter, who revealed his surprise at the discovery. We were as surprised as he was to found out that he finished on top.
