Chelsea hold seven-hour-long talks with representatives of Conte successor

Maurizio Sarri’s representatives reportedly held lengthy talks with Chelsea on Thursday over the possibility of the former Napoli manager replacing Antonio Conte.

Conte is as good as gone. He will pay the ultimate price for his failures this season, with Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich set to swing the axe and dethrone the former Premier League champion.

Sarri looks to be the man set to replace him. The London Evening Standard report that Chelsea held seven-hour long discussions with Alessandro Pellegrini and Fali Ramadani, Sarri’s representatives.

It’s believed that further talks are due to take place today (Friday), with Sarri joining Chelsea on the agenda once again. There has so far been no confirmation from the club that the talks took place, but the fact that more have been scheduled suggests that the initial negotiations were positive.

As things stand, Sarri is the most likely candidate to succeed Conte. We will bring you the updates on the situation as they come, so stay tuned to TalkChelsea.net.
