Gary Neville is super positive about Cole Palmer – possibly even more positive than some Chelsea fans are right now.

Gary Neville was on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast this week where they talked about the potential signing of Cole Palmer for Man U.
Neville compared him to “gold” signings that United had made in the past, where they secured established Premier League stars who had no chance of failing.
‘Those type of signings are good. There’s talk of Cole Palmer and that looks like a signing that could be gold for Manchester United if he came to Old Trafford.
‘I don’t think it would happen though, I think Chelsea will hang onto him. But there’s very few signings like that available, it’s only every few years that these type of players become available.’
Palmer does not deserve Neville “gold” status after 18 bad months

We actually struggle to agree with Neville on this one. Palmer is clearly an exceptional talent and could go on to be one of the best in the world. But the one thing he’s not is a guaranteed success in the way that Ferdinand, Roy Keane or Wayne Rooney were.
Palmer has had 18 brilliant months and 18 poor months. We’re all hoping he can get back to brilliant, but we’re not taking it as sure.
In other news…
A move for Marc Cucurella this summer still seems likely – but Chelsea may have to wait for events in Spain to develop before they start getting any bids.
Chelsea have a plan in place for Omari Kellyman ,who finally got his career back on track with a nice season for Cardiff in League One.
