I’m not trying to get anyone’s hopes right up here, but you guys should probably check out todays Erling Haaland news with interest.
Michael Zorc, Dortmund’s head of sport, has publicly admitted Chelsea’s interest in their striker today.

Haaland was meant to show for fitness testing for their pre-season today, but he wasn’t there. Zorc, whilst jokingly, said the reason he wasn’t there was because he was ‘already in England’, which of course is acknowledging Chelsea’s interest in the star.

This for me gives this saga a whole new feel, and it reminds me of how much Bayer Leverkusen used to talk and deny that Kai Havertz was leaving last summer, when clearly things had been going on behind the scenes for some time and Chelsea got their man.
I feel that the same thing is happening here with Haaland and Chelsea behind the scenes, it feels like something might be happening.
Don’t buy your Haaland Chelsea shirts just yet, of course Zorc was obviously joking, and there is a VERY long way to go for Chelsea to pull a deal off here, but this certainly does bring a new perspective to it when club owners, managers, directors etc start talking about interest in their players from specific teams.
It kind of leaves it a little more open to happening, and I have always said that this deal WILL happen, IF Chelsea pay Dortmund’s required fee which is believed to be around £150m.
Money talks, and this would mean Dortmund making an extra £75m on Haaland by selling him this summer, rather then next summer when he release clause comes into play.
So this saga just got a whole lot more interesting in my opinion…
