As Blues fans, we have an ongoing joke every single transfer window. We always wait and watch clubs around us getting deals done early, whilst we are content in knowing that we will likely be there in the final hours of the window trying to get deals over the line on time.
Well, if the latest article via The Evening Standard is anything to go by, that is all about the change under Todd Boehly.
The American is now just an official announcement from Chelsea away from fully being in charge of the club and getting the sanctions lifted. And that means getting down to business this summer.
The report claims that Boehly will personally oversee Chelsea’s transfer drive this summer after agreeing with Thomas Tuchel that a rebuild is needed to return them to the top.
And as I said above, it also seems like we can also get excited about getting deals done early, as it sounds like Boehly is not going to hang around when we are finally allowed to do deals again.
Boehly has made it clear he wants Chelsea to be in immediate contention for the Premier League title, and is prepared to give Tuchel all the backing he needs to make that happen. And that means taking action in the market and getting deals over the line early, so we do not end up having a last-minute panic like we always seem to do at this club.
Hopefully, new owners bring new ways of operating and make us more cut-throat, which this article ma
