Just a couple of days after rumoured appeared that Lucas Bergvall was a target for Chelsea, top transfer guru David Ornstein has dropped the bomb that the midfielder has “informed Tottenham Hotspur of his preference to seek a new challenge elsewhere” after a disappointing season for the 20 year old.
Chelsea surely ready to consider new bid for Swede

Ornstein also confirms that “previously, both Aston Villa and Chelsea established contact with Spurs to check if an opportunity [to buy Bergvall] existed.”
It would be very surprising if interest wasn’t reignited now Tottenham are likely to consider a sale. He barely played under Roberto de Zerbi, and Ornstein reports a similar shunning in training. It’s no surprise he wants out – the question is whether Spurs will accept selling him to Chelsea. We’re sure they would rather send him elsewhere.
With his contract running until 2031, Tottenham still have control over his future – but it will be interesting to see how much pressure Chelsea put them under now that this news is public.
In other news…
Liam Delap could be sold by Chelsea this summer – but we’re a long way from finding out what plans are for a number of Blues.
As well as Delap, Nicolas Jackson’s future remains the subject of much debate – and there’s an update today claiming that he’s closer than ever to returning to Chelsea.
