Chelsea are preparing a second bid for Granit Xhaka after Sunderland reacted angrily to their opening offer last week.

Chelsea are involved in talks for a few players at the moment, including Granit Xhaka of Sunderland.
The Blues saw a low ball bid for the experienced midfielder rejected, and the Black Cats were apparently not happy about what was seen as an insulting sum of £8m put forward for their captain.
According to CaughtOffside, the Blues are going to be back with a new and improved bid soon.

“Yes, Chelsea are absolutely going to bid again for Xhaka,” one source told them.
“Xabi Alonso is determined to work with him again. Sunderland have turned down £8m, but there’ll be a new offer of around £10m.”
Sunderland were furious about an £8m offer. Surely £10m isn’t going to change anything? It feels like £20m would be the bare minimum we’d have to offer, and we’re sure not the club are keen to pay that.
We hope this doesn’t end up with a summer of us fumbling around and annoying our Premier League rivals while not actually getting anything done. Xabi Alonso reports for work today, and we want his group to come together quickly.
