The transfer would represent another pure-profit sale for the Blues, continuing the trend of cashing in on Cobham graduates while strengthening the club’s financial position.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have agreed a package that could rise to £24 million through performance-related add-ons. The deal is now only awaiting the completion of personal terms and a medical before it is finalised.

The agreement follows reports from The Guardian earlier this week that Everton were looking to negotiate a lower guaranteed fee while including bonuses that would take the overall value in line with Chelsea’s asking price. That compromise now appears to have satisfied both clubs.
George spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton after making the switch from Stamford Bridge in February. His performances during that spell clearly impressed the Toffees, who have now moved to secure his services on a permanent basis.
