Kurt Zouma

It is still very much early days, but it looks as though Kurt Zouma’s loan move to Stoke City was just what he needed to kickstart his career.

The Frenchman was a regular in Chelsea’s side under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink, but suffered a rupture to his anterior cruciate ligament which disrupted his run in the side.

When Antonio Conte arrived at Stamford Bridge, Zouma was still on the treatment table. The Italian drafted in David Luiz and shifted Cesar Azpilicueta to right-centre-back, virtually blocking Zouma’s route into the starting eleven upon his return to fitness.

With the arrival of Antonio Rudiger and return of Andreas Christensen, it would likely have been a similar story this time around, hence why the club shipped him off to Stoke on a season-long loan.

Zouma has been getting the game-time he desires with the Potters, and has taken little time to make an impression on the Stoke faithful.

His performance against Manchester United on Saturday evening not only helped his side grab a point off of one of the title favourites, it also allowed his parent club Chelsea back into the title race.

Zouma took to Instagram to celebrate his side’s 2-2 draw with the Red Devils. Long may his good form continue!
