LOAN WATCH: Premier League counterparts Crystal Palace are still interested in signing Chelsea academy product Reece James on loan before Thursday evening’s deadline, report the Guardian.
James impressed while on loan with Wigan Athletic in the Championship last season, which appears to have earned him a spot in Frank Lampard’s first-team squad this coming season. However, Lampard’s faith isn’t enough to deter interested clubs from making their move.
The Guardian claim that Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace retain an interest in securing James’ services on a temporary basis for this coming season. However, James is looking set to stick around at Stamford Bridge and take his chances in the first-team.
Palace are in dire need of a new right-back following the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United. Though, they ought to look elsewhere in their search for a replacement for the Englishman. We need James as cover for Cesar Azpilicueta.
