Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has claimed that Chelsea would not stand in Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s way if he wanted to leave the club.
What would he know? Parlour may be remembered fondly among the Arsenal faithful, but he has no affiliation to us. He’s playing a guessing game.
Parlour believes that Ruben can leave Chelsea, if that’s his wish. He’s quoted by the Express saying:
“I’m sure the club won’t stand in their way if they say: ‘Look, we need to go and play’.”
Whether or not Chelsea would be prepared to let him know, either permanently or temporarily, is not known by anyone outside of the club.
It’d be dependent on the nature of the offer and whether it would be beneficial for us. We, as a club, should do no favours if we are not set to benefit.
That means that any interested party would have to offer a considerable sum in exchange for Loftus-Cheek, or be a suitable loan destination for him.
Only time will tell whether either of those will come about in January.
