It seems that Michy Batshuayi has forgotten the difficulty of making an impression at Chelsea under head coach Antonio Conte, The Independent reports.
The Belgian has got off to a flying start at German club Borussia Dortmund, hitting the back of the net five times in three games. On Thursday, Batshuayi’s brace against Atalanta in the Europa League won his team the match.
When speaking after the victory, Batshuayi reflected on his troubles at Chelsea where he was a fringe player, as The Independent reports.
Batshuayi is quoted by The Independent saying:
“It wasn’t always easy at Chelsea. I’m now playing with a lot of confidence.
“Sitting on the bench, score a goal and then back to the bench is quite difficult to deal with for an attacker.”

It’s refreshing to see the 24-year-old high on confidence and hopefully he continues this form for a sustainable period.
Perhaps Conte potentially not being at Chelsea next season can boost Batshuayi’s chances of being a regular here.
