Callum Hudson-Odoi is unlikely to be involved in Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth round clash with Sheffield Wednesday today after handing in a transfer request.
Chelsea continue with their defence of the FA Cup against second-tier Sheffield Wednesday. This would have been a perfect opportunity for Callum Hudson-Odoi to start the game and get some invaluable minutes under his belt in a Chelsea shirt. However, it’s looking unlikely he’ll be involved.
As BBC reported last night, along with the rest of the UK press, Hudson-Odoi has handed in a transfer request in hope of forcing through a move to Bayern Munich before the end of the January transfer window. Their pursuit has been long and intense, it’s no surprise his head has been turned.
Whether Hudson-Odoi will be a Chelsea player before the start of February is something we’ll have to wait to discover, but it’s hard to see him playing today. With Maurizio Sarri already taking issue with his players’ weak mentalities, he’ll likely deem him mentally unsuitable to play.
