‘He’s going to extend his contract’ – Former Blue believes Eden Hazard is going NOWHERE

Cesc Fabregas has given Chelsea fans considerable hope that Eden Hazard will reject interest from Real Madrid and extend his contract.

Fabregas may no longer be a Chelsea player, with the Spaniard signing for AS Monaco last month, but there will always be a place in his heart for our football club. He achieved so much here, playing alongside some of the world’s best players. None better than Eden Hazard, though.

Hazard is inarguably the best player in the Premier League, and we find ourselves in a situation where we have no guarantees he’ll be playing for us next season. Real Madrid’s interest is the worst kept secret in football, with Hazard thought to be keen on signing for Los Blancos.

In wake of Hazard revealing that he has made a decision about where his future lies, Fabregas has shared his belief that the Belgian will be going nowhere – and could even defy the odds and extend his contract with Chelsea. Cesc is quoted by the London Evening Standard saying:

“If he said that, I think it’s because he’s going to extend his contract with Chelsea. He’s a loyal player. He told me he would never fight with Chelsea to leave. This is his club, he has won so much in England.”

“This is just what I think, but I know him well. If he has made a decision, it would never be to let the club down in the middle of the season, he would not do that.”

We really hope that Fabregas has got this one right. Though Chelsea succeeded before Hazard, and will go on to win plenty in the years post his departure, he’s one of the top five players on the planet, and it’s been a pleasure to see him in action in SW6 over the past six-and-a-half-years.
