Cesc Fabregas has fired out a rallying cry to his Chelsea teammates following their 3-0 humiliation against AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
It was, by some distance, the darkest day of Antonio Conte’s time at Chelsea so far. In fact, it was one of the worst performances we have seen since Roman Abramovich took charge of the club 15 years ago.
Monday’s game with Watford provides us with an opportunity to make a statement to our rivals for Champions League qualification and prove that we are still able to be competitive.
One man who didn’t start the game against Bournemouth, but oversaw all three goals conceded after coming on as a substitute, was Cesc Fabregas.
Fabregas may well be drafted back into the starting eleven for tonight’s game against the Hornets, and he’s sent out a message to his teammates ahead of the fixture.
The Spaniard is quoted by Sky Sports encouraging his teammates to bounce back from the defeat against the Cherries:
“We now have to be stronger than ever, show the quality we’ve got, our leadership and try to focus better than what we’ve done lately and perform at the top level again.”
Let’s hope that his message is heard loud and clear…
