Yesterday we reported on the news that Atletico Madrid are reportedly looking at Alejandro Grimaldo as a left back option in case Marc Cucurella is too expensive for them.
To us, it looked like an attempt to get Chelsea to reduce the price by showing they have other options. Well, two can play at that game. Today, CaughtOffside have the exclusive report that Man U are interested in Cucurella.
Man U interested in Chelsea full back

It doesn’t make that much sense as a move, given that part of Cucurella’s motivation for leaving is said to be a desire to return to Spain.
But Man U are in the Champions League, and if Cucurella just wants a fresh start in general, perhaps he can be persuaded. United certainly have more money to spend than most of the European teams being linked with him.
This report says Chelsea want €50m-55m and it’s almost impossible to imagine Barcelona or Atletico paying that. Perhaps we will get to a situation at the end of the summer where a Premier League move is his only option.
In other news…
Atletico Madrid are preparing to battle with Chelsea for Marc Cucurella’s future – they’re already putting in work to try and bring the price down.
Xabi Alonso is just a few weeks away from starting work, and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with in terms of playing style.
